Here are some pictures from this past school year. It was an ocean theme.
These were taken towards the end of setting up the classroom. This is the circle
time carpet. The middle board was changed weekly depending on the theme we were
focusing on. I later added a number chart and rule chart to this wall.
Of course we teachers don't really take the entire summer off. We end up working and planning new things for next school year. I've decided to go back to my Seuss theme for next year. The ocean decor is going back in the attic for now until I feel beachy again :) I can't stop making/buying cute things to use in my classroom. (Pictures to come soon). I made some great things to hang from the ceiling, posters, and stuffed animals from Kohl's (some purchased on eBay). I even figured out how to use the poster setting on my printer to make large posters for my classroom. I made a "Seuss-tastic Work" poster for the hallway art I will display next year. I made some balloons for the birthday door. I plan on drawing a character to hold the strings of each balloon. I will go through my boxes in the upcoming week and put up some pictures of the items I have made/purchased for next school year, So excited...and even more excited to get all that stuff out of my house and back at school!! :) Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I sure am!

Here are some pictures of my classroom from 2009. At this point, this was my third year teaching after college which gave me a chance to take the time to collect Seuss themed items for school. I purchased things from flea markets, various websites, teacher stores, and even had hand drawn items such as my class count Sneetch.
I try my best to teach the kids to respect out classroom and keep everything neat and tidy once they are done playing.
Last year I started my blog as a way to showcase all of the things I make at home and for my classroom. Total flop! I haven't got around to even figuring out how to navigate this thing! But I have all summer to do it...so that's my goal! I have tons of great ideas I came up with so far that I plan on testing next year in my classroom. Pictures to come....once I can figure this thing out! :)
